This product is springless. The slide is designed to have a little give. Brass is a softer metal so we have to adjust tolerance to avoid scoring on the finish from the friction.

Divot tool is well made. Very neat tool to have in your bag. 2 flaws though.
1- Once the pin is fully out, there is a lot of play. Pin will move back and forth.
2- After using the tool to fix a divot. Any dirt/sand will get stuck in it. If you don’t blow it out or wipe it off. It will not go back in or will be tough to close it. Huge flaw. I went back to my normal two pin divot tool

NOT a premium product. As soon as I opened the ENVELOPE that it came in, I was disappointed... I was definitely thinking that a product like this (at this price point) would come in a more upscale box/holder. The tool is much smaller than expected and only has the Finch engraved on one side. The other side (also flat) is blank. This is a missed opportunity for engraving/ other logo. I have reached out a few days ago to customer service for return information and still nothing...

Works great. Better than a two pronged ball mark repair tool. Right size for pocket. Easy to find in pocket with tees and repair tool. Also great for cleaning grooves in your irons. I will buy a few more for my playing partners.
